Why do girls disfigure their bodies with tattoos?
If some dumb blonde gets on TV with a tattoo is this the reason the sheep follow. What motivates a woman to do something crass like this? Low self esteem maybe?

its not disfiguring. your entitled to your own personal opinion… and if you dont like tattoos than dont date a girl with them. i have one and i certainly didnt get it because of low self esteem. its a personal style choice. just like piercings are. only tattoos are more permanant.

honestly i dont know why i wanted it so badly, but now that i have it, i actually enjoy it, and i believe it highlights my body. so far, no regrets and i’m planning to get another one. by the way, it’s not because i saw it on tv on on someone hott or whatever i did it because i just like the idea of tattoos [just not going overboard with it]

I have tattoo’s simply because I like them. Same reason you buy the clothes you buy, because you want too.
What motivates a man to ask such a stupid question? Fear of confident women who know their own mind and don’t let men rule them maybe?
December 5th, 2009 at 9:35 amWell I’m almost certain that if a girl is going to get a tattoo, she doesn’t think that she is disfiguring herself nor is she following the example of some "dumb blonde" on TV. She might get the same tattoo she sees on someone else somewhere because she thinks it will look good on her, but I doubt it’s because of low self-esteem.
I would think a woman, just like any man, who gets a tattoo, gets it because they feel it represents something that’s important to them and they want to have the thing it represents close to them at all times, so they get a tattoo on their body. That, or they simply just like the way it looks.
I’m not doubting the fact that there are some people who would get a tattoo, or a bunch of tattoos just to get people to look at them, but the majority of people get tattoos for more sentimental or fashionable reasons.

I am a respectful mother of four who works a 40 hour a week job and I take my kids to school functions and t-ball games. There is nothing disrespectful about having a tattoo. It’s an expression of art. Sorry, not everyone is a follower. Get your facts straight buddy!

I dont care who else has a tattoo or if I was the only person in the world who had one. I like the ones I have and thats what really counts. as I guess I was lucky, having a disfigured body and all I still managed to find a loving husband. now you on the other hand seem to have a self esteem problem. does putting others down make you feel better about yourself? becuase if it does then do ahead and put me down and call me disfigured. I also have tourettes syndrom…would you like to make fun of that too?

I know alott of people that have tattoos and they have them for personal reasons. One of them says In loving memory of… and on top of having them for personal reasons they look really nice too. In some cultures tattoos are a part of religion. Some people get them to make themselves more unique. There are all types of reasons why ppl have tattoos so dont crticize stuff like that.

December 5th, 2009 at 9:35 amA tattoo is not something to devalue someones body but rather a form of individuality and self expression. Low self-esteem does not contribute to this whatsoever. I know that i myself am an artistic person a tattoo is just a way to show that you are committed to your form of art and that you believe in what your doing. If it happens to be hot as in trendsetting that has nothing to do with why i get them. Mine are personally hand drawn and considered carefully. They tell a story all their own without you having to say a word of who you are or what you’ve been through. o and by the way im not blonde im LATINA b*tch lol
