Tattoos on very dark black people?

I am a pretty dark complexioned girl; like my dad is Hatian. I was wanting to get a few tattoos, but I don’t know whether or not to get color. Some people say to get tattoos with bright colors like yellow or orange and white, and to avoid black; and others say to avoid bright colors because they will fade and I won’t be able to see them after a few months and white will almost disappear… Can somebody clear this up for me???

Tattoos are basically ink permanently embedded in the second layer of your skin which is why colorful tattoos fade a lot on dark people. I would get color but I highly suggest you go to an amazing tattoo artist who knows what colors will work best with your skin. I also suggest that you don’t get anything small and detailed. My mom has a big coral flower on her back she got two years ago and although it’s a little faded, you can tell it is orange and green. My sister also has color tattoos but they are so small that they look like blotches on her skin. I have black tattoos and I made sure I got reasonably big sizes and very thin lines. I also looked to get placement on a part that is lighter or not directly in the sun. Make sure you use sunscreen for whatever you get and exfoliate to help with dead skin build up.

colors only fade if you don’t take care of them. always, always, ALWAYS.. if it will be exposed to direct sun, slap some sunscreen on it

Bright colors can show up on darker skin, but they are better suited for highlights only. Black, greens, blues, and purples show up beautifully on darker skin. So does red, usually. You never know how your particular skin tone is going to react to particular colors until you try it.

White ink even fades on pale skin, so don’t feel bad about it. I have some white ink that’s almost gone after only 2 years.
