Does anyone have a sugar skull tattoo?
I dont want to know what they are.. I love them!
I want to get one extremely bad but i dont want it on my arm. i want it like on my hip/ stomach area…
Does anyone have one there? Does it look bad? Or even if you don’t, do you think it would look bad?

I’m Catholic, so does that make is more ok? And i don’t think it will be offending or posing because you can really put any twist on them you want to.

January 26th, 2010 at 8:57 amWell as long as it’s well done, it shouldn’t look bad. But as a warning they have significant meaning to the Latin American culture. Unless you’re connected to this culture, it may seems odd, posing, or even disrespectful to them.
Sugar skulls play a significant roll in the Latin American holiday El dia de los muertos. It’s a holiday to remember and pray for dead family members. It’s an extension of the Catholic’s All souls day. They look cool, yes, but it’s not something to put on your body just because of how "sweet" it looks.
EDIT: I don’t think so, unless you’re connected to the Latino culture. It’s a Latino Catholic thing, not an everyone Catholic thing. I just think that putting it on your body because you think it looks cool, even though it’s a very religious, respectful icon in the Latino culture may be viewed as offensive or disrespectful by some. I don’t think putting a "spin" on it’s going to help that case any.
It’s your body, obviously you can and probably should do what you wanted with it. I just wanted to warn you about the significance of that symbol, that’s all.
