Tips on caring for a new tattoo?

I got a new tattoo three days ago but cos of some circumstances i didnt get a chance to ask the tattoo artist what to do with it. its a smallish tattoo on my neck, i havent done anything with it as far as putting some type of cream on it but ive kept it under clothes and off water. Any tips? should i be putting some sort of cream on it? anything easy to get would be handy since i can’t be to obvious cos my ‘rents dont no… thanks!
it was a good tattoo place btw, but my friend had to be taken to hospital because of something unrelated that happened and so i didnt get a chance to ask them or for them to give me anything what with me worrying that my friend was like dying. thats why im asking now, duh.

Go to any wal-mart or anything like that and get some A&D triple antibiotic ointment. I will keep your tattoo moist, and not make the color fade, even if it is just black.

It can be bought in a smaller tube that you could keep in your purse or pocket. Put it on every 4-6 hours…. or whenever you go to the bathroom if you want to be sneaky…..

First of all they should of given you a page with aftercare info on it!Any good tat artist do it!
Just keep it clean and keep your hair away from it for a week or so.Use some E45 cream or any cream with no purfume in it.One for dry skin.
Many places tell diff things it just depends were u go!
I got a tat on my foot and they told me to keep it cover in cling film for like a week and change it daily and wash it with mild, purfume free soap and luke warm water and then just cream it all the time for good while so don’t get a big scab.
But then again my bf got a tat ‘s done and they told him to keep it clean and let the air at it as much as poss as it makes it heal faster!
So thats best tips I can give ya! Hope it helped!

I’ve got five pretty big tattoos and all i did with all of them was just put vaseline on them once a day or whenever i was bored and they’re all fine. Water doesn’t affect them and as long as you don’t pull the scab off or pick it, it should be fine

i just put savlon on mine to keep it soft. dont pull scabs off or you will lose the colour. water doesnt affect it so dont worry about getting it wet. keep it out of bright sunlight for a while.

The first 2 weeks is important in the life of a tattoo. UNSENTED lubraderm or Curel is very good. There are a million different ointments people use, But just as important is Keeping it out of the sun, You do have to clean it with soap & water, But No Soaking. Do not scratch it or pick the scabs ( scabs are OK just dont cause them to bleed, that will push out color) & Do not let your collar rub on it. Last; hideing it from your parents may keep air from getting to it..
